He Just Got His Dream Career In New York City And He’s Thinking It Might Be Time To Get Rid Of His Girlfriend

“In addition, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and I did not want to be rushed into leaving. For more context, we are both from a small town on the other side of the country.”

His girlfriend’s whole family lives in the tiny town they’re from, and his girlfriend intends to move home to be with them all.

If he follows his girlfriend on her plan, he’s going to be forced to exit his career after just a year or two of working on Wall Street, and he’s going to make significantly less money.

His hometown is so small that they don’t have any investment firms like the ones in New York City, and to be honest, he’s done so much to get to where he is that he doesn’t want to throw it all away.

“I feel like a bad person for saying this but I would never leave my career that I worked so hard for so that my girlfriend can be near her family,” he said.

“I feel like it is unreasonable for me to do that but I also respect my girlfriend’s wishes. So I feel like the solution is to leave her and chase my dreams so I do not resent her for the rest of my life.”

“I am so torn because I love her but I do not want to resent her for taking away the opportunity of a lifetime.”

Do you think he should pick the career of his dreams over his girlfriend?
