She Agreed To Cover Part Of Her Best Friend’s Portion Of The Rent When They Moved In Together, But Now She Wants To Back Out Of That

The final straw for her came a few weeks ago when she noticed that her best friend drank all of the beverages she had in the fridge, and additionally, her best friend accidentally turned the entire fridge off which resulted in her having to throw out around $30 of her food.

She asked her best friend if she could pay to replace the beverages of hers that were consumed, and her best friend did say yes, but then pointed out that she wanted her to reimburse her for a couple of things she purchased for their apartment that totaled $8.

She was happy to pitch in but told her friend that it wasn’t that nice of her to be so an eye for an eye so to speak with reimbursement.

What really made her mad was that her best friend has been using all of her things, and even some very expensive things, yet turns around and wants $4 for small things she bought.

She just did not feel it was very fair of her best friend to take the position that she did on the matter, and now she doesn’t want to help her best friend cover her portion of the rent.

I’m sure she feels she’s being too generous and that her best friend is taking advantage of her here. Her lease isn’t up for another 5 months, so she’s pretty stuck for a bit.

Do you think it’s wrong of her to no longer want to help her best friend out with rent, especially since it was an agreement they made before signing their lease?
