Thankfully, her older brother let her know that he would not be offended or upset at all if she chose to go to prom instead of his graduation, and he never went to his prom which he ended up regretting big time.
Although her brother is sympathetic to her situation, her mom is not in agreement with him at all. Her mom believes that she’s “selfish” for wanting to go to prom instead of being there for her brother, and her mom always said that she “should think about someone” aside from herself “for once.”
Now, she has never gotten along well with her mom, so she’s not sure if her mom is just attempting to do something to purposely hurt her, or if her mom is treating her this way because she is “making a bad choice.”
