She did get her money for graduation, which was years ago at this point. Not that long ago, her dad said that he and her stepmom would be gifting her stepbrother more money for his upcoming high school graduation.
Her dad said that her stepbrother “worked so hard” that they felt he deserved more for his graduation gift than what she had received.
“After talking to my dad more about it he made it very clear that he was only giving the amount they originally agreed on from the shared account,” she explained.
Above that, her stepmom is personally paying out of her own bank account for the rest of her stepbrother’s graduation gift.
“Am I wrong for being upset?” she wondered. “It is her money and that is her first kid.”
She would like to confront her stepmom about the difference between what she got for graduating high school and what her stepbrother is getting, but she thinks her stepmom will just make excuses about how much she dislikes her stepbrother being the reason why she’s causing problems.
