She shared how Jan’s lack of energy and attitude affected the night, but then Jan passively aggressively brought up something even worse– her meal after the dinner party.
Apparently, after barely touching the three-course meal, Jan remarked how she left the party and ate the “best” cheeseburger. And that’s when she was no longer taking any of Jan’s remarks.
“I said, ‘Maybe you shouldn’t have come then if it wasn’t up to your standards. You’re actually standing here talking about eating cheeseburgers the same night you ate two bites of the meal I cooked and wasted all that food I spent all day cooking? If you were as sick as you seemed that night, you should not have come since you ruined the night,'” she told Jan.
Jan ended up calling her a bad friend and an attention seeker after that. And even though she found Jan’s behavior and comments unacceptable, she is now wondering if calling her out on it– and saying she ruined the evening– was a jerky thing to do.
If you were in her shoes, how would you have handled Jan? Do you think jan was out of line?
