This Starbucks Barista Went Viral After Reenacting The Worst Types Of Drive-Thru Customers On TikTok

Everyone knows that food service workers are overworked, underpaid, and have to put up with some seriously frustrating customers.

And throughout the years, we have heard some utterly crazy customer horror stories– like that one time a McDonald’s patron actually leaped through a drive-thru window and tried to make their own burger.

But, one Starbucks barista recently compiled all of the “worst types” of drive-thru customers in one neatly packaged TikTok in hopes of raising awareness about how patrons should not act.

And her hilarious reenactment of the common customer tropes has gone completely viral on the platform.

She first addressed “the yeller”– you know, that person who literally screams their order at the drive-thru speaker.

If this is you, try to remember that the microphone at Starbucks is not that bad. So, lower your voice instead of blasting the baristas’ ears out.

On the other hand, though, the Starbucks employee also berated people who order from the passenger side of their car.

When customers do this, all baristas can hear are the slight mumbles of your order– and they will have to ask you to repeat it many times.

So next time you consider grabbing some fast food, maybe encourage the driver of the vehicle to place the order.

The barista also called out people who gaslight drive-thru employees. For example, the customers who pull up to the payment window and pretend they ordered something entirely different.

Then, they have the nerve to try and take the “mistaken” order for free!

She said that whenever people do this, she tells them it is against policy and that the extra drinks are going straight in the trash.

No cheapskates allowed!

Finally, another notable performance included “the phone caller”– a parody about customers who get mad when drive-thru employees try to take their order and “interrupt” their phone call.

Plus, one reenactment of people who ask for food recommendations but then waste time choosing an entirely different order.

“If you do any of these, you suck,” the barista added in her video.

And since being posted on TikTok, the hysterical– but also sadly, true– video has gone viral on the platform.

It reached over seventy-six thousand views, gained eighteen thousand likes, and spurred over three hundred comments from food service workers who feel the barista’s pain.

Many also shared their own least favorite drive-thru customer habits.

“Or whenever customers just pull up, and you’re doing something, and they just scream ‘Hello! Hello!’ until you answer,” commented one user.

“You forgot the ones who make their kids order for themselves from the backseat,” wrote a second user.

“When you hand them their order through the window, and they ask if they can add something else. No baby, drive back around to the speaker,” added another.

And in case this barista’s PSA was not enlightening enough, another TikTok she shared afterward also revealed that Starbucks employees can physically see you ordering via a drive-thru camera.

So, the next time you roll through to pick up a frappuccino or latte, you might want to be aware of what you are doing.

That means no eye-rolling, face-making, or any other embarrassing actions.
