The video entirely shocked and divided the TikTok community– reaching over 36 million viewers, gaining 1.6 million likes, and spurring one hundred and thirty-one thousand comments.
Many people even blamed the mother for leaving her toddler unattended.
“I understand that kids are quick, but this took some time!” commented one user.
“Somebody was not watching their child!” suggested another user.
“I’m a parent, and it legit blows my mind when parents are oblivious to their kids. Makes me wonder,” wrote a third.
And all of this hate prompted the mother to create a follow-up video, where she refused to entertain any “bad parenting” remarks.
“I don’t have time to explain myself. Obviously, you do not have children,” the mom wrote.
Still, other TikTokers completely understood how quickly chaos could ensue when dealing with young children.
“Ok, Karens, chill. He [Ryan] could have gotten out of bed in the middle of the night and done this. This is probably a morning discovery,” reasoned one user.
