And to her, that basically meant that her daughter had dropped out of college– which she was furious about.
“So, I told her that at this point, she will have to get a job and pay rent and cell phone in my house,” she said.
“I told her she has thirty days to find a job in which thirty percent of her monthly check is due. And if she does not find a job, she will have to find another place to live.”
After hearing this, though, Laura immediately burst into tears and accused her of being an uncaring mother. But, she honestly does not care anymore.
“Despite me feeding, clothing her, putting up with her, taking her to the doctor, and even picking up her prescriptions, she has done nothing around the house except watch videos on her phone and play video games,” she vented.
Apparently, Laura also leaves trash on the floor and dishes in the sink, and her room is a disaster. So, she really does not feel like she can afford to care for a “grown woman” anymore. Nonetheless, she is not sure if her response to Laura’s school struggles was the best course of action or if she was way too unsupportive.
Do you think Laura might be struggling with a deeper issue and needs more support? Was her response to her daughter warranted or too harsh?
