I never would have thought that people hated Taylor in her high school. Was it her success or the subject matter of her songs? Or was she disliked for other reasons?
“Yeah, keep in mind, these are her peers. You know this isn’t like just random people on the internet,” Jessica continued.
“She’s literally like what 16, 17 leaving high school to pursue a career that people are telling her that she could never have. You know, also the guys she was writing these songs about, they were still at, they were still in school, you know, they were still there. And now they have a hit song about them, talking about what a shitty boyfriend they are, you know.”
“There are a lot of rumors going around about how she got her start in the first place… The fact remains is that there were not a lot of people in high school who had nice things to say about her. Fast forward it’s 2009, I’m a senior in high school. My senior class gets invited by Taylor Swift to the 2009 CMA awards.”
Needless to say, they were all excited to get to go to the CMA’s. She thought it was really random, though. They didn’t know why Taylor would want to invite them to the CMA’s. She remembers Taylor slaying the scene, music video of the year, and entertainer of the year.
Jessica finished her video by claiming that Taylor was petty and only invited them to the CMA’s to essentially throw it in their faces. I never would have thought that someone would plan years in advance to get revenge of some sort. I’ve known petty people in my life, but I’ve never known petty like this, and honestly, I admire Taylor more for it.
People that were her peers told her that she wasn’t going to succeed, and she proved them wrong and wanted to show them how wrong they were.
