“My dad ended up saying “We will not pay you back anything until you stop with the rude comments and start showing us respect,” she said.
“I ended up in tears because I felt so used. This was a first, as usually, they try their best to pay me back in the past (it was smaller amounts back then, though) and they treat me a respect and are kind.”
She feels that her parents did not appreciate her giving them the money at all, and she is left feeling terrible about it. She’s trying her best to save up her money again right now, but it’s certainly hard to do. There are things in her life she would like to buy, like a laptop, phone, and even a piano, but now she doesn’t have the money to do that.
Another thing that bothers her is that her 19-year-old sister got $8,000 from her parents to pay for college, and she also got a new phone and laptop, even though she had a job and could have paid for those things instead of relying on their parents. Her sister won’t give her parents a dime, so she’s struggling with why her parents were so generous with her sister and not her.
“I still live with them, and moving out is not an option for me due to personal reasons,” she continued.
“I also don’t want to, as I am very close to my siblings. How can I get them to pay me back or at least set up a plan to do so?”
