“If I wanted to rent a house, I would rent a house,” replies @goldenflacko4 in a response video. “I’m essentially staying in a one-bedroom apartment because I’m trying to save money to buy a house.”
He then shows an example of a three-bedroom house listed for rent in southern Dallas. It costs over $3,300 a month and has the same amenities that his current apartment already has. Therefore, renting a house instead of an apartment would not help him reach his goal of one day owning a home.
Another commenter told @goldenflacko4 he should be “grateful” because if he lived in California, things would be much worse. This led him to create another response video, explaining that the minimum wage in California is significantly higher than it is in Texas, which would help explain the difference in rent.
@goldenflacko4 ends his video saying, “Make it make sense, y’all.”
