Her Cousin Is Currently Expecting Triplets But Has A Low-Paying Job, No Car, No Savings, And No Partner In The Picture, So She Tried To Give Her Cousin A Reality Check, And She Got Freaked Out On
This thirty-one-year-old woman’s younger cousin, who is twenty-eight, recently found out she is pregnant. And even though her cousin could not be more excited, she is honestly pretty worried.
Apparently, her cousin learned she is actually expecting triplets. Plus, the father of the children is a “real piece of work” who will not be in the picture or offering any financial support, according to her.
On top of that, her cousin does not earn a lot of money in her current position, doesn’t have a car, and basically has no savings in the bank.
So, she is genuinely concerned about how her cousin will make ends meet in addition to being the sole parent of three infants.
“I myself have two kids, and even with the financial and emotional support of my partner, it can be very stressful,” she admitted.
This realization led her to try and help out her cousin over the past few weeks. More specifically, she has gently tried to illuminate the situation and make her cousin recognize that the road ahead will not be without its speed bumps and challenges.
According to her, though, it is as if her cousin has her head stuck in the sand. The only thing her cousin is choosing to focus on is how amazing the experience will be and how blessed she is to be having three babies at once. Moreover, her cousin claims that she will just figure the entire situation out as she goes.
Well, on Christmas Eve, her cousin’s optimism kind of came tumbling down. And it all began with a baby scavenger hunt.
Apparently, her cousin wanted to surprise the rest of the family about her pregnancy using a scavenger hunt. So, her cousin set up the whole thing, and the end led to three baby onesies.

However, it appears that her cousin already told her mom– who subsequently spilled to beans to her cousin’s grandparents, aunts, uncles, and basically everyone else in the family.
This meant that by the end of the scavenger hunt, her cousin did not get the same positive and excited reaction she had been hoping for. Instead, her cousin actually received a lot of pushback from her family.
In fact, even some of her more conservative family members began urging her cousin to consider adoption or terminating the pregnancy.
Other family members encouraged her cousin to really think about how hard raising the three kids alone will be, and they questioned her cousin about how she would be able to afford the undertaking.
“It was not very celebratory. I could tell my cousin was upset, and she left early,” she said.
So, a couple of days later, she decided to travel to her cousin’s studio apartment to have a chat. She apologized for everyone’s lackluster reaction to the pregnancy announcement and gave her cousin some sympathy there.
But then, she did admit to seeing where the rest of her family was coming from. Plus, she was honest– explaining how everyone is just concerned and wants the best for her cousin.
Afterward, she also decided to ask her cousin what she really expected everyone’s reaction to be. And unfortunately, it was about as far from reality as it could get.
“My cousin told me she thought everyone would rally together to help her now and to offer a bunch of help once the babies arrived. She expected financial support, too,” she revealed.
So, at that point, she basically just told her cousin that was very unrealistic and claimed her cousin could not rely on everyone else like that.
Instead, she pointed out how if her cousin does go through with the pregnancy, then she will likely just have to figure much of this out on her own.
If you could not have guessed, though, her cousin did not like hearing that one bit. First, she actually got accused of being “horrible,” as did her family. Then, she got told that she and her family deserved each other, and her cousin claimed that unless they fully supported the pregnancy, they would all be cut off! And finally, she even got kicked out of her cousin’s apartment.
So now, she has some pretty mixed feelings about the entire incident. On the one hand, she feels like she gave her cousin a sort of wake-up call and a reality check about what she is about to deal with.
On the other hand, though, she remembers how overwhelming it was to be pregnant herself and also feels bad that her cousin did not get any joyful reactions or offerings of support.
“Especially because in the past, other family members have gotten very happy family reactions when sharing their pregnancies,” she added.
In turn, she has been left wondering if agreeing with her family’s perspective and trying to give her cousin a dose of reality was actually necessary or if it just made her a jerk.
