Then, suddenly, her sister turned up at her house out of the blue this past weekend. They hadn’t spoken since she sent her a Facebook message on Christmas day.
However, her sister wasn’t dropping by for a visit or to try and reconcile with her. Instead, she showed up to ask her for money.
Her sister’s husband started investing in NFTs, and things went south. He lost a ton of their money, and now they’re behind on mortgage payments, so she showed up at her house to ask for help paying off their bills.
She apologized to her sister and explained that she couldn’t help her because she is also going through something financially and explained Tom’s situation. She doesn’t want to give her sister a bunch of money that she may need to put toward Tom and his crucial medical care.
“I suggested she get a job and maybe downsize/move in with mother while they get back up on their feet,” she explained. “She did not take this well.”
Her sister called her a “crazy cat lady” and other mean names. Finally, it got to the point where she had to kick her out of her house.
Since then, her mother and other relatives have spammed her with mean messages over her interaction with her sister. They called her heartless and accused her of loving an animal more than her family.
Do you think she was justified in not giving her sister money?
