One Of The Contestants From The Hit Reality Show “Love Is Blind” Is Suing Netflix And Alleging Her Ex-Fiancé Was Abusive

Then, Mona delved into Renee’s Love is Blind contract, which the former contestant had submitted as part of her lawsuit. There, she found some interesting tidbits of information.

“First, if you get proposed to, or if you propose, then you must show up at the altar. Failure to do so is a discontinuation of service, and you will owe the production company $50,000. If you decide to get married, you cannot initiate divorce proceedings until after the final episode of that season airs. The only exception is if it’s been 11 months since the wedding date, and then you can go ahead and do it,” said Mona.

She added that these rules were upheld for confidentiality purposes, which was also why contestants were not allowed to wear their wedding rings until the airing of their season’s final episode as well.

Furthermore, contestants give the company permission to use the footage in any way they want. And it just gets worse from there.

“They also say if you divorce, you cannot claim alimony or spousal support, that everybody leaves with what they came in with, and the only thing you split are wedding gifts. The producer will reimburse you for the divorce mediator if it is an uncontested, no-fault divorce,” explained Mona.

Finally, she concluded that if contestants got pregnant at any point during the show, all the costs would fall onto the contestant.

The overall consensus among TikTok users in the comments section was that the show should’ve ended a long time ago.
