While She Was Living With Her College Roommates, They Held A Seance And Summoned A Ghost Named Claire That Continued To Spook Them For Months

During this woman’s freshman year of college, her school assigned her a roommate. Luckily, they got along great and became best friends.

They befriended another woman who lived on their floor, and the three of them were incredibly close all year.

At the end of the spring semester, they planned to rent out a house together for their sophomore year.

The third woman’s stepfather conveniently was a house flipper and recently renovated a home only two blocks from their college campus.

It was a three-bedroom house that would cost them $300 to $400 monthly, a great deal for three 19-year-old college students. Another plus was that the house was beautiful.

“It had a sunroom, a basement with a washer/dryer, two beds on the main floor with a bathroom, and basically an upstairs suite with a huge master and walk-in closet, and private bath,” she said.

The third woman decided to stay in the upstairs suite because it was technically her father’s house, so she should be able to have first choice of which bedroom she wanted.

In addition, her family argued that because she spent so much time on cheerleading and with her sorority, she didn’t have to pay any of the rent.

Unfortunately, she and her best friend eventually moved out of the house because they were frustrated that they were the only ones paying rent.

But while they lived there, they took the two bedrooms on the main floor, both just off the living room and the bathroom between their bedrooms.

The three women moved into the house in August before the fall semester began. In October, they got in the Halloween spirit by holding a seance.

In hindsight, it wasn’t a smart idea. But they all agreed that the ghost in their house was named Claire.

They kept all the windows closed, lit a candle, and during the seance, they asked Claire tons of yes or no questions.

Without any of them doing it, the candle moved on its own in different directions in response to their questions.

From then on, spooky things started happening. For her, the experiences were irritating, and her best friend was terrified by her own encounters with Claire.

Strangely, everything occurred on the main floor of the house, so the third woman didn’t witness anything since she was upstairs.

“My friend would experience sleep paralysis frequently and wake up to a woman sitting on top of her or see her standing in the corner, near her closet. The sink in the bathroom between our rooms would turn on and off all night. For me, she would open my door and get into bed with me,” she explained.

When this first started happening, she assumed it was just the third woman’s cat coming into her room to sleep in her bed.

She didn’t even realize it was Claire, the ghost, entering her bedroom during the night. Over time, she noticed she felt the weight of a person in bed next to her. Whenever she turned over to look, there wasn’t anyone in the bed with her.

A moment after turning back around, she would feel the weight of a person scooting closer to her in the bed.

Again, no one was there when she turned to look. Every Saturday, she worked 12-hour shifts at her job, so, on these nights, she was so tired that she allowed the strange situation to continue without thinking of it.

The paranormal activity happened so often that it felt like a waste of energy to get out of bed to close her door or turn over to look for signs of anyone in bed with her.

While living in this house, she saw Claire on one occasion. One day, she was at the house by herself and was deep cleaning her bedroom.

“The light was on in the living room, and my room was creating a sort of triangle of darkness in that short hallway,” she shared.

“I was pulling the vacuum out of my room when, out of the corner of my eye, a woman with dark hair was standing behind me. She was so real (both my roommates had dark hair) that I jumped and said, ‘You scared me!'”

She began spinning around to face Claire, and once she was facing the spot where Clarie was standing, she was gone.

For the first time, Claire’s antics scared her. Several months later, she and her best friend moved out of the house because of tension with the third woman they’d been living with.

For years afterward, she and her friend would discuss the spooky occurrences and have opposite reactions.

Her friend was always on the verge of tears because Claire scared her so much. She, on the other hand, laughed and quipped that Claire was her “ghost girlfriend” who snuggled up to her every night.

Reflecting on her experiences with Claire, she never understood why Claire was kind to her. Sometimes, she felt guilty that she was so terrified when Claire stood behind her that day because it seemed as if Claire hadn’t meant to scare her.

She realized that Claire was probably just trying to interact with her and allow her to see her for the first time.

In her view, Claire was an innocent and friendly ghost who was just up to a lot of paranormal activity while they lived in that house.

At the same time, she didn’t understand why Claire was so cruel to her friend. It will probably forever remain a mystery.

The most humorous part of Claire’s shenanigans was that she adjusted to the strange situation after a while and didn’t even care anymore.

Her friend was in nursing school, and she had classes and worked 30 hours a week where she stood for her entire shift, so once she grew accustomed to Claire the ghost as their unofficial fourth roommate, she cared more about sleeping than if a ghost was in bed with her.
