Some of the best childhood memories involve birthday parties, family vacations, and trips to the amusement park. On the other hand, some of the worst are when your parents get into fights.
When TikToker Jesse (@jbagley_) was two years old, her mom found out that her dad was cheating and confronted him in the most chaotic way.
Her mom decided that she wasn’t going to sit at home and stew about it.
She loaded the kids into the backseat of the car, grabbed a hammer, and went to give her cheating husband and his mistress a piece of her mind. It was a plan fueled almost entirely by heartbreak, revenge, and adrenaline.
As she was speeding down the road, emotions running high, she got pulled over by a cop before she could reach her destination. No one had a seatbelt on, so she was definitely getting in trouble. The kids were all crying in the backseat.
The police officer asked Jesse’s mom where she was going in such a hurry. She explained that she was about to commit an offense against her cheating husband that would be serious enough to cause her to wind up in federal prison.
Rather than escalating the encounter, the police officer simply took the hammer from her and followed her home to make sure she didn’t continue with her mission.
A month later, he brought back the hammer after tempers had cooled and the crisis had passed.
In the comments section, several TikTok users shared similar childhood stories and reflected on the lasting impact of those experiences.

“Same childhood. I could spot my dad’s type of truck headlights on the opposite side of the freeway by the time I was six and yell out if it was the right color so she could turn around because my momma would look for him. When she finally left, she became a cop,” commented one user.
“Well, it was my grandma, and she had a straight razor. She was a hairstylist, so she always had a blade. And the mistress’s name was Virginia. She was hollering for her to come out of the house. My grandfather finally got her back in her car, and we went to Hardee’s and opened her beauty shop like nothing happened,” wrote another.
“We were always driving around town looking for my daddy. I’m thinking that’s why I have trust issues today,” pointed out a third.
“I promise you’re not the only one. Mine was my daddy was a truck driver, and my mom found them in his truck, and we rode all the way back home with them. My dad was so nervous that he had to poop the whole way back,” added someone else.
