There are so many things you need to consider before settling down and getting married to somebody, and one of those things is finances.

You want to ensure that you’re in a good place financially and that your partner is as well.

One man is unsure what to do, as his serious girlfriend wants to get married, but he has concerns about how she deals with money.

He’s 28, and his girlfriend of three years is 26. Everything had been going great in their relationship, but he recently started feeling anxious as his girlfriend started talking about how she wanted to get engaged.

While he loves his girlfriend, he thinks there is a major issue she has that she needs to fix before they can settle down.

“She’s terrible with money and spends too much,” he said.

“I make a little over three times what she makes, yet she drives [a] $70,000 car that she’s making payments on. I drive an older car that I bought [with] cash for $12,000; her rent is about $400 higher than mine. She eats out daily, and the list goes on. She’s asked to move in with me to help save money and asked me to pay off her credit card [debt], which is about $23,000.”

He told his girlfriend that he’d take their future more seriously and help her pay off her debt if she did a few things to get her act together financially.

He told her she needed to sell her car and come up with a sustainable financial plan that she’d need to follow strictly if they moved in together.
