Every person who’s been a server for several years has their fair share of crazy customer stories. Some of them involve customers doing something that’s high-key illegal.

One TikTok user recently shared the story of how she had to stop a pair of parents who were ordering alcoholic beverages for their teenage daughters at their table.

Carissa (@carissaadanielle) is a waitress and TikTok user who shares some of her wildest stories from her job.

Recently, during a rant about a particularly difficult night at work, she talked about parents crossing a risky boundary at dinner earlier this month.

Carissa was already having a rough night at work after a check mishap at one of the tables she served. Then, things became more chaotic.

Two couples brought in their teenage daughters and sat together at a table in her section. However, they all already had their first round of drinks with them. She noticed the girls were drinking two frozen drinks that looked like cocktails but figured they were mocktails and thought nothing of it.

Throughout the night, the couples and their daughters wandered through the restaurant, as it had live music, and people were often up and down to dance and move around.

One of the husbands stopped Carissa at one point and ordered two frozen margaritas. Although his wife wasn’t at the table, Carissa figured the drinks were for the both of them and brought them to their table. Later, she looked at their table and saw the frozen margaritas in front of the couple, so she didn’t think anything suspicious was happening.

When the adults ordered another round, Carissa brought them more drinks and continued her busy shift. Then, as the night progressed, she saw something troubling.

“It started to die down in the restaurant a little bit, and I noticed that the drinks [were] now sitting in front of the girls,” Carissa says in her video.

Carissa decided to let it go for a moment, as she didn’t want to cause a scene immediately. But then, the adults ordered more frozen margaritas, and she felt they’d be going to the teenage girls again.

“I know exactly what’s going on here,” says Carissa.

“I go back to the office because all three of my managers were there, including the owner of the restaurant. I’m not losing my job because you want your 16-year-old daughter to drink.”

While Carissa didn’t care much for the restaurant and eventually left this specific job, she knew that if teenagers were caught getting served alcohol in the establishment, there could be extremely serious consequences for her and the restaurant as a whole.

She told her manager what was happening, and without making a scene, her manager told the parents at the table they couldn’t order any more alcoholic drinks.

When Carissa returned to the table, she pretended not to know what happened and asked if everything was alright.

One of the husbands explained what happened and asked, “I wonder who ratted us out?”

That comment was extra jarring to Carissa, as the man nonchalantly admitted to the sketchy things he had been doing that could’ve cost her job.

She figured the parents must have been giving their daughters the drinks when Carissa wasn’t in eyesight and then putting the glasses back in front of them when she was to make it look like they had been drinking all the rounds.

However, Carissa could tell the girls were getting drunk each time she took their order, so they didn’t fool her.

“It was just not a good night,” says Carissa at the end of her video.

If you’ve been a server, have you ever caught parents ordering alcohol for their underage kids?
