She Heard A Little Girl In The Woods At Midnight, But Nobody Was There

Ivy was freaked out because it was midnight, so it was highly unlikely that a little girl would be outside wandering the woods at that hour. She was convinced that the voice either belonged to a murderer or a mimic.

When the voice said hello again, she could tell it had moved closer even though she hadn’t heard any footsteps. That was what made her believe that a mimic was in her presence. She ignored the voice and pretended like she didn’t hear it, hoping it would go away.

For the next five minutes, the voice continued to float closer, circling the fence line and repeating the word hello. Meanwhile, Ivy’s dog was growling the whole time. Finally, her dog stopped growling out of nowhere. He laid his head down and went back to sleep. The voice had stopped. Or so it seemed.

Just when she thought the situation couldn’t get any weirder, her dog immediately began growling once more.

Ivy could then hear the sound of a ticking clock coming from a bush directly across from her. Again, she detected no footsteps or rustling noises that would indicate a person was there. She kept ignoring the sound until it eventually disappeared.

In the comments section, many TikTok users speculated over what the source of the voice could have been. Their theories ranged from supernatural creatures to birds.

“It’s 100% an escaped parrot. It would mimic a clock, and they speak with high-pitched voices like a child’s voice,” stated one user.

“It’s a crow or a raven. They can mimic sounds they hear, including voices. And because of their gravelly register, when they speak, it can be a little mechanical. They are very smart and naturally curious,” commented another.

“Either a Wendigo or a mimic. Either way, best to pretend you don’t really notice them and don’t pay attention. Sounds like it wanted to make you run in acknowledgment of its presence and power over you,” added a third.
