While TikToker Shaylee (@shayleeraye) was on a girls’ trip in Ireland, her husband left her. They had been together for three years. He wrote her a breakup letter, explaining his decision.
He started off the letter by thanking her for all the memories they made together and the lessons he’s learned with her. However, he felt that the relationship had run its course and referenced something she had said months ago about how love was not enough anymore.
“We don’t have the same vision of how we want things to continue,” said the letter. “We both want and expect different things from each other.”
“We’ve both just been too hurt. I think what’s going to be best is moving on past this point of our relationship and bringing an end, I think we’ve both known was coming.”
Several times throughout the letter, he mentioned that he still loved her, but didn’t want to be with her anymore. He added that the rent was paid for the rest of the month and took enough of their wedding gifts to allow him to start over at a new place.
According to Shaylee, he actually took everything, including the KitchenAid her mom had bought for her.
She was the one who sold all her furniture to move in with him, so the way he thought he was entitled to their possessions just because he owned them first was mind-blowing to her.
“The fact that he also took all of our wedding gifts, with all this cooking stuff, is also wild because he doesn’t cook,” said Shaylee. “The only thing he ever cooked was Mac and cheese. I’m the one who cooks and bakes and does everything.”
The final page of the letter included a postscript about how he was working with the insurance company to take care of the damage done to the mirror on her car after he hydroplaned while bringing the dogs to the groomer.

He told her not to worry about it, even though he had canceled the claim about her car being damaged.
So, as usual, Shaylee had to handle everything on her own. Some TikTok users took to the comments section to share their thoughts.
“He could’ve at least done it before the trip so you could’ve ogled some Irishmen shamelessly,” stated one user.
“My husband of 35 years moved out and left me a note, too! I’m saving the letter and hoping to slip it in his casket someday,” declared another.
“He’s such a baby. Who leaves their wife like that? He needs to grow a pair,” commented a third.
