Two years ago, TikToker Leen (@leenpat) went on a date with a guy whom she later realized was also in a relationship with his own sister.
She met him on a dating app right after her divorce, and he was super attractive. He drove two hours to take her out for their first date. Before then, they had been chatting for a couple of weeks.
She felt comfortable enough to invite him to stay the night at her place after their date, which is something she would never do now.
When he arrived to pick her up, he bounded up the stairs with a bouquet of flowers in hand and gave her a big hug.
They went out to dinner at a nice restaurant and had a great time. He seemed like he had his life together. He had just gotten out of the military and was working on earning a master’s degree.
He grew up on a farm in the South and was homeschooled with his siblings. He had a sister who was a year or two younger than he was.
After they finished their first date, he immediately texted her about their next one. He planned to take her to mini-golf and a hot dog place. Even though the first date went smoothly, she felt like something was off. But she decided to go on the second date anyway.
At dinner, he randomly pointed out that she looked just like his cousin and said that his cousin was hot. She thought that this was the worst thing about him, but there was still more to come.
When they went to a hotel room he had booked, he brought out some dangerous-looking toys for the bedroom. She was appalled because she did not want to use any of those toys.

As they got to talking, he revealed to her that when he was in the third grade, he and his sister were really curious.
He described in detail what he and his sister had been doing together since the third grade up until a couple of years ago. They had been in a full-blown relationship and were still really close.
Leen wanted to leave, but she had been drinking and could not drive home. Their date turned into a therapy session as she tried to keep him talking, buying herself time to figure out how to get out of there. He proceeded to share all his trauma until he fell asleep.
Later, while she was driving home, he called her to tell her that he had so much fun. She told him that it wasn’t going to work out because they didn’t seem to be into the same things, to which he agreed.
