One day, TikToker Jess (@jess_the_mess_._) received a phone call from her mom, who had chilling news to share about a man from their past named Andy.
It was the kind of phone call that makes your stomach drop. Andy had once been around their family quite a bit. He had a crush on Jess’s mother and used to spend time working on their house.
According to Jess’s mom, he was recently arrested for a brutal murder that happened in 1992. The details were horrifying. He had cut off the victim’s hands, feet, and head and put the body parts in buckets of cement.
Then, he dropped the buckets off of bridges in Indiana. As for the rest of the body, he spray-painted it black and set it on fire.
For all these years, the murder remained a mystery. But in 2019, his partner in crime confessed to the murder because he couldn’t deal with the guilt any longer.
Justice was finally served when Andy was arrested in 2026. The police did not have enough evidence to arrest him earlier. The entire situation stemmed from a dispute over a car radio that was worth about $3,000. He wanted to trade his car radio for some car parts from a person on a Craigslist-style website.
But when the person with the car parts found out he had stolen the car radio, they wanted to back out of the trade. So, Andy shot the person in the head.
“My mom and him had a big falling-out, too, so we could have all been murdered,” said Jess. “And they only found him because they found the car he had stolen, which he had bought an identical car, like same make, year, model, whatever, so that if anyone saw it on his property, it would be like, he owns that car.”
“So, he had two of them, and they found it, and that’s how they arrested him.”

It just goes to show that you never know who people really are. For Jess and her family, the realization was deeply unsettling. This wasn’t just a random headline or a distant case.
Andy had been in their lives before and had access to their home. What they thought was an ordinary connection actually hid a much darker truth that they didn’t find out about until years later.
Some TikTok users shared their thoughts in the comments section. They pointed out how casually life-altering information can be delivered in a simple phone call and zeroed in on details that didn’t add up.
“Moms really be dropping the most random things on us,” stated one user.
“Why steal a car if you can afford to buy the exact same one?” questioned another.
“Omg, Jessie! I have been talking about this for two years because it’s the house next to my work!!!” someone else exclaimed.
