Medical stories on social media both fascinate and horrify viewers. One woman’s medical journey has blown people away. The stuff she’s been through can be hard to wrap your mind around. It sounds almost too unbelievable to be true, but it really can happen, although it is rare.
Most of us don’t really think about the muscles and tissues holding our organs in place. We just trust that all of our organs are quietly staying where they belong. But for TikToker Liz (@phys.liz), hers stopped doing their job. Her pelvic floor collapsed and released all her pelvic organs.
She underwent multiple surgeries to have her organs put back into her body. There was the rectum, uterus, fallopian tubes, and bladder. Then, she had to have more surgeries for the rectum, bladder, intestine, uterus, and rectum again.
Eventually, her condition became so complex that the doctors permanently removed some of her organs. She had to remove her anus, sealing off one of the major escape routes for her organs.
“But if that wound ever reopens, my intestine will be halfway down the street before I even notice the door’s open,” said Liz.
“My surgeon was able to save my bladder for now, but she’ll almost certainly escape again and is probably the single biggest flight risk. Gravity is a cruel mistress.”
Her intestines have been falling out since she was five years old. So, by the time her entire pelvic floor collapsed in adulthood, she was already used to such horrifying bodily events.
“I would just photograph the escapee and then squish it back into whatever hole it came out of,” said Liz. “Everyone else in there, like my stomach, liver, kidneys, they move around too much, and they slip down in my abdomen, but they have yet to experience the light of day.”
Despite such a traumatic experience, Liz has approached the situation with good-natured humor. Her sense of humor has surprised many viewers.

They praised her openness in the comments section, saying that she was helping educate people about medical conditions they had never even heard of. Others were also concerned that her organs would fall out due to standing for too long.
“My informed medical recommendation is that you should start exclusively walking on your hands!” joked one user.
“I’ve been disemboweled and completely gutted as well! I was a firefighter for 15 years until I hit 38 and got a super rare type of cancer,” commented another.
“Babe, I love that you’re educating us, but I am so scared that you’re standing up right now,” stated a third.
“This is both interesting and horrifying!! I was so nervous about you standing and moving around so much!!” exclaimed someone else.
