Sometimes, you have to shut a guy down before you even get to go on a date because that’s just how brightly the red flags are waving.

TikToker @jezacat accidentally matched with a 33-year-old man on a dating app who hated women. After a brief conversation, she immediately knew he was not the one for her, or maybe anyone.

They started messaging back and forth, and he revealed that he had just gone on a really bad date the day before. He sent her a three-minute voice memo describing in detail how poorly it went.

“So, he really is bashing this woman,” said @jezacat. “He said it was a first date. He picked her up, and the second she got into his car, he could smell her. He said that she reeked of B.O.”

She had asked him what kind of car he drove, which rubbed him the wrong way. He referred to that kind of question as “pocket watching.”

According to him, pocket watching means when someone is trying to gauge how much money you have. He also got the impression that she didn’t go out much because she ordered an appetizer, entree, and dessert at dinner.

Now, @jezacat didn’t understand how that indicated this girl didn’t go out much, but she kept listening to his story. At some point during the date, he learned that the girl was a content creator, which he thought was a red flag.

When the date was over, he paid for both of their meals and dropped her off at home. Afterward, he texted her, saying that it wasn’t going to work out.

“Off the bat, this voicemail rubs me the wrong way,” said @jezacat. “Always suspicious of men who talk trash about women. He could’ve said that the date was bad without saying she smelled.”

“This man is someone I don’t know, and allegedly, he’s trying to take me on a date.”

Eventually, the conversation turned to talk of careers. He was currently a bodyguard and was in his first year of college. He was thinking about pivoting into STEM or law. He wanted to become a physician, but wasn’t in medical school at all.

The whole time they were texting, @jezacat was in Paris. When she was on her way back to Los Angeles, he told her to bring him back a magnet. She did not like that. It was the last straw, so she decided to unmatch with him.

During their very first interaction, he thought it was wise to complain to her about a girl he just went on a date with, make assumptions about the girl, and talk about half-baked career plans.

Overall, he did not seem like he would make a good partner. It’s a shame, though, because he was physically attractive. But obviously, looks aren’t everything.
