In 2008, TikToker Kourtney (@crimewithkourt) and her family moved into a haunted house. She was incredibly scared and always felt unsafe living there. A lot of horrifying stuff happened to her within its walls.
When she was six years old, her parents got divorced. Shortly afterward, she, her mom, and her sister moved in with their grandparents at their home in Yakima, Washington.
In 2008, the house next door to Kourtney’s grandparents went up for sale. Her mom immediately put in an offer, and the house was sold to her.
They moved in sometime in the fall. They were ecstatic to have a place of their own and to still be near their grandparents. The house was built in 1935. It had three bedrooms and one bathroom.
The basement was in bad shape. It flooded easily and wasn’t sealed well, so bugs and snakes often got in. From the start, they all felt that the basement was creepy and no one should go down there.
“The door only locked from the outside, and it was one of those sliding locks at the top of the door,” said Kourtney.
“When you open the door, it was super unsettling because the inside of the door was painted in primary colors for kids, and on top of that, there were scratch marks on the inside of the door.”
Strange activity began happening soon after they moved in. During one of the first few nights they stayed in the house, everything was normal when they went to bed.
But the next morning, when Kourtney woke up, she found a rotten tooth in the bathroom sink. They thought it was weird, but they shrugged it off and continued on with their lives.

As the months passed, they noticed cold spots all over the house, and certain areas smelled of rotting meat. Again, they ignored this and chalked it up to the house being old.
None of their pets, three cats and a dog, liked the basement either. They would sit in a circle and stare at the basement menacingly. The cats would hiss, and the dog would growl.
One morning, Kourtney’s grandmother came over to the house to feed the cats while everyone was gone. She had her back turned on the hallway leading into the living room when she suddenly heard a scary noise in her right ear.
She told them about it when they returned home.
Another day, Kourtney and her grandma were sitting in the living room, eating lunch, when they both heard a man yell in the same room as them.
Furthermore, one night, their little remote toy car started driving on its own. It spooked them because the toy car didn’t have any batteries.
Kourtney often slept with her mom because she was too scared to be alone at night. She also had the most disturbing nightmares.
When she was 15, she took a selfie on her iPad and then went about her day. A few months later, she was going through her photos when she noticed something horrifying in the background of her selfie.
There was an outline of a little boy standing behind her. He looked inhuman and had two gaping holes in the spots where his eyes should have been.
Kourtney’s friends, as well as her sister’s friends, had frightening experiences whenever they slept over, so they also believed the house was haunted. Eventually, Kourtney’s mom sold the house in 2017, and she hasn’t set foot in it ever since.
