If you’re looking for a sign that your marriage is finally on the right track, having your dead mother-in-law show up to lambaste your wife for her infidelity is a pretty big one.
This man’s wife had an emotional affair with his best friend that lasted six months and ended after his best friend assaulted his wife while she was blackout drunk and on their couch (and he was in the house).
Several days after the incident, he was informed of the affair. His marriage has been a rollercoaster since then, though they have managed to successfully reconcile, and he and his wife are in a wonderful place today, two years after that night on the couch.
A couple of years back, his wife saw a medium, hoping to connect with her parents, who are both deceased. He thinks mediums are phonies, but his wife was moved and inclined to believe that her experience was proof from beyond the grave.
For a Christmas present to her sister, his wife got her a session with a medium, and then bought a separate one for herself as well.
“When my wife returned, she acted like she’d seen a ghost (and in some sense, she had). I was concerned for her, but she refused to talk about what happened. It took several days before she finally opened up to me,” he explained.
“Apparently, the medium contacted her parents, and her mom showed up and then went on a 40 minute rant about how she is disappointed in my wife for her infidelity, that she raised her better than that, that my wife ruined my innocence, that an emotional affair is still a real affair even if you don’t [sleep with them] and that my wife needs to view it as such, and that my wife needs to be a better spouse to me and make sure she doesn’t lose me.”
“This particular medium scribbles down notes while in the zone, and it’s all in there. I fully understand why my wife had a very bad time hearing all this, and why it took her several days to muster the courage to discuss it with me. I don’t think anyone would have a pleasant time being admonished by a dead parent.”
While his wife was disheartened by what happened with the latest medium, those words helped her to heal, and it made him happy.

You see, his wife’s mom adored him and would refer to him as her favorite kid. His wife’s mom moved into their house right after they got married, and kept on living under their roof for four years.
She then grew sick, and he was her caretaker as she declined. So after his wife went to the medium, he was elated to hear his wife’s mom still loved him from the other side.
“It was also reaffirming that they never went ‘all the way.’ My wife was already on a good path, but the medium incident further spurred her into being a better version of herself,” he continued.
“I know many will be skeptical about all this, but I really don’t have a good explanation for how the medium would have been able to fake this, given how specific everything was.”
“Sure, I guess my wife could have fed her some information, but my wife claims that she just showed up and then had to sit there and endure being berated. I also doubt that my wife would want to divulge any of this to an outsider.”
His wife is humiliated about the affair, and it’s not something she would drag up as a discussion point with a stranger, which the medium was.
He thinks what his wife encountered with the medium is true, and evidence that his wife’s mom still cares for them, despite no longer being on this earth.
The medium gave this couple a gift: a shared truth they both agreed to believe in. If it makes her a better wife and makes him feel less like a chump for staying, then maybe the truth of the medium’s abilities doesn’t even matter.
I don’t know about you, but I do think there are people out there who have the gift of communicating with the dead, and the medium his wife saw gives the impression of being the real deal, considering the level of detail.
I certainly hope that those who love us never truly leave us, and this story just might serve as proof.
