TikToker Blair Lancer (@blairlancer) was set up on a blind date with a guy by mutual friends, and she luckily lived to tell the tale. On their first date, he immediately offered to take her on a vacation the next weekend.
Of course, Blair was weirded out. She didn’t want to go on vacation with a literal stranger.
She didn’t have the best time at dinner, but her mom encouraged her to give this guy another chance. So, they went on a second date.
Again, they didn’t really seem to be clicking, but she decided to go on one more date with him just to confirm it wasn’t a match.
On the third date, he kept saying that he wanted to take her on a vacation. She told him that it wasn’t going to happen. He suggested that they fly out to Atlanta for a big playoff game instead.
It wouldn’t require sleeping over, and they could be back home the same day. She agreed to it because he had been very sweet this whole time.
He took care of the flights and the tickets for the game. Then, he started telling her to wear high heels to the airport. She woke up early for the flight, but then he texted her, saying that he had pushed the flight back, which annoyed her because she could have slept in.
He said he would pick her up, but then ended up booking a ride to the airport for her. However, her arrival time was 2:25, and the flight was at 2:55.
He told her not to worry and that he would hold the plane. She was thinking that he must be well-off, and they were on a private flight or at least first-class.

But when he sent the boarding pass to her, she realized that she was in a middle seat in economy. She finally got to the airport at 2:35. After getting through security with her heels in a bag, she sprinted to her gate.
By the time she arrived, she was sweating profusely. Her date was chatting with the woman at the gate. She told Blair that the doors closed 10 minutes ago, and they weren’t getting on the plane.
“This guy had me run through the airport, and he didn’t even know that I wasn’t wearing heels,” said Blair. “Ran through the airport to get to the gate when he full well knew that the plane was gone. I’m like, this is insanity, and he’s like, well, don’t worry, I have a bunch of backup plans.”
The next flight to Atlanta was at 4:05 and would land at 7:20, but the game started at 6:00. Blair put her foot down and refused to fly to Atlanta.
At that point, she was super hungry and wanted to get some food, but he couldn’t get them into the lounge. She had to use her credit card.
Once they sat down, they started discussing his backup plans. He suggested spending the weekend in Florida. She reiterated that she wasn’t spending the night with him anywhere.
“It’s almost like this whole thing was a well-thought-out plan,” Blair pointed out. “Like, he literally picked me up less than two hours before the flight, probably knowing full well that I would miss it, and then be like, no worries; since we missed it, let’s go spend the night together somewhere.”
Next, he suggested flying to Los Angeles. Blair decided to leave the airport because nothing he was saying was making sense. He offered to drive her back to the city. During the drive, he revealed that the whole thing had been a test to see how much patience she had.
Then, he kept offering to make it up to her with dinner, a spa day, and shopping. By now, Blair knew that this guy did not mean what he said. He finally dropped her off at home.
The next day, he called her about the spa and told her that everything was booked up. A couple of hours later, he texted that he wasn’t able to book a spa day. She told him that they were not compatible and wished him luck with dating.
