pet evacuation jacket japan1 300x124 Pet Emergency Evacuation Jacket Will Save Your Pets Life and Yours TooThe Pet Emergency Evacuation Jacket is probably the stupidest and smartest thing I have ever seen. Stupid because it looks utterly ridiculous on your pet. Smart because it will probably help save its life in a disaster as well as yours. Made from material used by Japanese firefighters, this flame retardant suit protects your pet and is equipped with a handle to quickly make a run for it when a situation gets deadly. The jacket holds an abundance of items that could be heavier than your pet like a food bowl, rubber booties, muzzle, rain coat, freezer gel packs, nutrition bars, etc..you can fit enough crap in this jacket to feed you and your pet for atleast a few days, if your dog or cat’s back isn’t broken by then from schlepping it around. The Pet Emergency Evacuation Jacket retails for $475 at Japan Trend Shop. We didn’t say safety comes cheap!

PetEgo Pet at Work Travel System is the First Dog Laptop Bag

By Chip Chick

August 3rd, 2009

doglaptopbag 300x159 PetEgo Pet at Work Travel System is the First Dog Laptop BagOver the years we have seen laptop bags and backpacks of all shapes, sizes, and styles, but this is the first time we’ve come across a pet carrier designed to also be a laptop bag. And it’s certainly about time too! I’ve personally been in the precarious situation of having to travel while holding my pup in her carrier and my laptop in a separate bag. And it would be much more  pleasant if I could just carry both of my babies in just one single case. The  ultimate solution for this dilemma is the Pet at Work Travel System by PetEgo, which is designed to carry small pets on your back like a backpack or by holding its handle. It features a foldable pet dome and soft crate with a soft double sided comfort mat. Plus, on the inside there is a special compartment to keep your laptop snug too. The Pet at Work Travel System retails for $178 and comes in black or tan.

9dfa12cd7d6a72cf234ff69765360e04image484x550 264x300 Lucky Star Nyamo USB Drive for Anime Fanatics I’m not really that into Anime in general, but the Lucky Star’s Nyamo 2GB USB Flash Drive is just too adorable if you’re a cat lover.  For those who want to know who Nyamo is, it is a self-portrait of the Lucky Star Manga-ka, Yoshimizu Kagami. Its feline head comes off the base and is easily placed inside a USB port to easily transfer files. Unfortunately, it doesn’t come preloaded with any goodies, but it is a collectible since only 500 of them will be made. You can pre-order it from KidNemo in two weeks for $71.99.

sx200is 300x225 New Canon PowerShot SX200 IS is a Super Zoomy Compact

The new Canon PowerShot SX200 IS packs in a lot of features considering that it’s still just a compact camera. For starters it’s got a 12x optical zoom to compliment its 12.1 megapixels. It’s also capable of going up to IS0 3200, it has got a 3.0″ LCD screen, an optical image stabilizer, and for those who dig HD – you can record HD video with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels. The SX200 IS also has HDMI output so you can connect it directly to your TV. Design wise, it’s got a somewhat traditional and boxy looking design which might not appeal to everyone, but it does come in the color choices of black, red, or blue. The Canon PowerShot SX200 IS is available now for $349.99. Overall, this is definitely more of a prosumer compact, and we expect it to make great shots like most of the PowerShot line.

Tom Hanks Betrays Sony, Definitely Uses a Kindle

kindletoomhanks 300x225 Tom Hanks Betrays Sony, Definitely Uses a KindleIt seems that Tom Hanks is having a problem discerning where his true gadgets alliances are. At CES just two months ago, he made a grand speech about how much he used Sony products. But then he hit a snafu. “Describing his electronic book, Hanks pretended to call out Amazon.com’s Kindle instead of Sony’s product, saying he’s using ‘The Ki … Sony Digital Reader, which is a fine product in its own right.’” Hmm, Tom?
To make matters worse, we just caught this quote in People magazine from Tom.
“I got a kindle for newspapers and magazines, not for books. Quite frankly, I prefer to buy books from my neighborhood bookstore.” (People magazine, March 30th, 2009).
Well Tom, we only have one thing to say for you and it’s this – you can’t go on on like this, swinging both ways – gadgets have feelings too ya know.

Mimobot rayD80 Review

By Joseph Damanti

rayd80 300x225 Mimobot rayD80 ReviewThe Mimobot rayD80 has now been upgraded to a new body called rayD80. Of course all Mimobot’s come with a story and rayD80 is no different. His complex story is here which details how his new upgraded self, rayD80 will help save the world. Who knew USB keys would be come the future of toys?? But this review won’t focus on his personal trials and tribulations, but instead how we in real life interact with this fun USB flash drive.

Unlike many USB keys these days – preloaded goodies come loaded on to it. RayD80 comes fully loaded with games, wallpaper and it is also serves as a regular thumb drive, which these days is very handy to have with you. The games that are already loaded onto this thumb drive are similar to a Tetris game where you need to line up three of the same color blocks in order to get rid of the color line and as the blocks build up, they come down faster. You are also able to rearrange the colors so they can fit to the blocks that are already lined up. This is a very classic game which makes the player think quick and ahead. It is a good game to keep the mind going as I find myself playing similar games online all the time.
