Her boyfriend refused to say a single word to her on their drive back home together.
Since then, her boyfriend has continued to ignore her and he also has been leaving their home for multiple hours at a time without letting her know where he’s going.
She did send him a text yesterday to say sorry for dropping the ball on the pickup time from the holiday party, but he simply replied back “ok” alongside the shrugging emoji.
When she returned home from work on Monday, her boyfriend was already leaving their house. She is well aware her boyfriend doesn’t really deal with issues head-on, instead he ignores things and avoids confrontation, so she left him alone.
She knew he probably needed some time to himself, so she gave that to him.
Then, yesterday, she still had not spoken or texted with her boyfriend at all. Around 2 that afternoon, he sent her this text:
“It’s pretty safe to assume we’re not anything more than ‘friends’/roommates anymore.”
She was floored by that comment and was able to get him to admit why he was so mad at her, and it turns out, it’s because she chose to wear a dress to her holiday cocktail party.
Her boyfriend then texted her, “It’s weird to think about it. This is the first time I’ve ever seen you dressed up. And it’s for work. I got the message.”
