83 Days Ago This College Freshman Vanished From The MSU Campus And Now There’s A Petition Going Around To Dam The Cedar River In An Attempt To Find Clues As To Where He Went

East Lansing, Michigan. Brendan Santo is a college freshman who attends Grand Valley State University. On the night of October 29th, he was over at Michigan State University visiting with a few of his friends.
Unfortunately, just before midnight, Brendan disappeared off the MSU campus, and nobody has seen him in the 83 days that have passed since then.

Brendan was last spotted walking by himself out of Yakeley Hall, and he was wearing Converse sneakers, a Red Wing baseball hat, grey sweatpants, and a black shirt.
He also had with him a dark brown wallet and a distinctive gold cross necklace (pictured below).

“The last confirmed location of Brendan’s phone was on Beal St. not far from Yakeley,” Brendan’s loved ones wrote on a Facebook page dedicated to finding him.
“Police were able to confirm his battery drained down to 0%. It was not deliberately shut off. It is a dark color iPhone 11 with a dark or clear case with no screen protector. Brendan drove his vehicle to MSU, parked it and it never moved. Brendan was not carrying his keys to his vehicle and his parents were able to take his vehicle home.”

“Brendan was carrying keys to his friend’s vehicle. They are in his back pocket. The picture on the page is the spare set. The friend’s vehicle was parked at Emmons Hall Friday and had not moved until it was towed to the dealership for new keys on Sunday.”

“The boys checked the vehicle throughout the day on Saturday assuming Brendan went to sleep in the vehicle. When it became clear he had not returned they contacted the MSU campus police. The police did search the vehicle.”

Brendan’s credit and bank cards have not been used since he disappeared, and his family thinks something has to have gone terribly wrong because he wouldn’t have gone missing voluntarily.
Brendan’s family is asking that if you happened to have been near the area Brendan disappeared from on October 29th, that you check the photos on your phone to see if you might have captured him on camera.
A task force recently searched the bridge located over by Beal Street, as well as the Brody neighborhood, without any signs of Brendan.
Now, there’s a petition going around on Change.org to dam the Cedar River in an effort to be able to search for clues leading to his whereabouts.
“Brendan Santo has been missing since October 29. 2021,” Daniel O. explained in the petition. “His last known location apparently was near the Red Cedar River on MSU campus.”
“The river is dangerous for divers to search due to debris. I urge an immediate temporary damming of the river.”
“This way the search can proceed safely and can either find Brendan Santo or rule out his being there. The water can be diverted to a pond or holding tank with minimal flooding risk. Cut the red tape and dam the river.”
A reward fund has been created that now exceeds $30,000. If you see Brendan or have any information related to his disappearance, you can call the MSU Police Department at 844.996.7873 or email them at [email protected].
You can also call 911 if you spot Brendan.
