She Went On A First Date With A Guy Who Ghosted Her Because She Didn’t Pay The Check

Nik thought she hit it off with a guy she met on a dating app. Their first date lasted for 6 hours; they went for dinner, drinks, and even ice cream. So, naturally, she expected a second date.

But in a Tik Tok explaining the dating disaster, she revealed the nasty texts her date sent after he ghosted.

Before this, though, he texted her post-date, saying he wanted to see her before a work trip to California. But they weren’t able to figure anything out. So, they figured they’d set something up when he got back.

But then, seemingly out of nowhere, he ghosted her. She texted to check in on their second date and heard nothing back.

Finally, on Christmas, he texted that he was sorry for the late reply and that he didn’t want her to think he hadn’t enjoyed their date. That sounds like good news, right?

But when she asked why he had waited almost two weeks to reply, he gave her an excuse, saying that he had an emergency trip to New Orleans.

However, he also went on to blame her for his absence. He said, “I wasn’t hot with insane urgency because I noted you excused yourself to go to the bathroom when the check came for dinner and then also drinks, and I hate it when girls do that; it’s exceptionally rude and cheap.”

As if him blaming her for his distant behavior wasn’t shocking enough, the accusations kept coming. He said that excusing herself when the check came was “really disrespectful” and that he felt like she didn’t care about their connection as much as he did.

He then said that her message asking for answers made it seem like she didn’t want to hang out again when it was the opposite.

Of course, Nik had to respond and set the record straight. She said that she’d only meant to use the restroom before they moved to their following locations for the night, i.e., between dinner, drinks, and then ice cream.

But she made it clear that his assumptions had damaged any potential relationship they might have had in the future.

That should have been the end of their interaction. But Nik’s date continued to hurl accusations; he said that she’d picked the restaurant, ordered what she wanted, then not offered to pay for it. But Nik clearly stated at the beginning of the video that he had picked the restaurant and made the reservation for them.

He went on to say, “Don’t pretend like you didn’t watch me pay for your drink in the A and B; it’s literally $10 and means nothing to me but you discarded any self-respect for me for it after doing the same at dinner.”

He then brought up the fact that he has a trust fund, seemingly out of the blue. He reprimanded her again and compared her to other girls he’s dated who used him for his money.

Commenters agreed and sided with Nik’s total confusion. One wrote, gaslighting, disappearing for days, some outrageous story to cover for his absence. Ladies don’t ever think this behavior is normal or okay.” Another joked, “He 874% does not have a trust fund.” They also critiqued his texts, which were riddled with grammatical errors.

It seems like this guy comes with a lot of baggage; Nik may have dodged a bullet.
