Methanol Levels Detected In The 21 Teens’ Bodies Who Were Found Dead In A South African Tavern Last Month

In addition to methanol, officials also discovered alcohol and carbon monoxide in the teens’ systems.

Unfortunately, though, the exact cause of the teens’ death has not been officially declared. Oscar Mabuyane, the Eastern Cape Premier Lubabalo, described the disaster as a “sensitive issue.”

Moreover, he underscored how the teens’ cause of death will only be announced once officials are completely confident.

“It is only time that will make people heal. And we’ve got to give time for people to heal,” Lubabalo added.
