She Thought She Was Getting Fired When Her Boss Scheduled A Call With Her, So She Filmed Her Reaction

There is nothing quite like the fear of getting fired. It can be so scary when you think your boss is upset with you or that your job is in jeopardy.
A woman named Heather (@vintagechickennugget) was so sure that she was going to get fired recently so she recorded herself on TikTok throughout the entire workday to document the fateful moment.
Heather started filming her TikTok video in her car around 10 am. She writes in an earlier video that she was going through a “rough patch with work” and that it was “bringing her down.”
Heather started getting the feeling that she was going to be fired. Although she never explicitly states why, she started filming herself giving updates on a call she had scheduled with her boss.
Heather went into work after scheduling the call for 12pm. While she waited around her workplace, a lot of anxiety began to build up.
Heather spoke with her supportive fiancé during the wait, and as he gave her some words of encouragement, she began to cry.
When Heather called her boss at noon, he told her that he would have to call her back a little later because he was on the phone with someone else.
Poor Heather had to wait even longer to find out if she was going to lose her job!
The video then cuts to Heather sitting in front of the camera with even more tears streaming down her face.

“I’m not even getting fired,” she explains. “He just hired other interns. Why am I so annoying?”
Heather lets out an exhausted yet relieved chuckle and asks, “Can I have a serious conversation without crying? Why do I cry like this?”
Heather then reveals that she cried so hard during her call it made her contact lens fell out. Poor thing! In a follow-up video, Heather explains that working difficult jobs with anxiety over the years has made her an extremely emotional person at times.
She also had a horrible boss in her twenties while she worked at a law office who would not respect boundaries and psyche her out.
“He was so mean; he was so condescending,” says Heather. “He would just belittle me.”
Although Heather has made lots of progress with her anxiety, she still feels traumatized from that previous job, which would explain why she gets so emotional when it comes to work. Thankfully, lots of TikTok viewers left comments that Heather says made her laugh. Many commenters have felt the same kind of pressure at their jobs.
“I cry too, girl,” commented one user. “It’s so embarrassing, but I literally cannot stop when I’m in the moment.”
“As someone who was like that, you just gotta keep at difficult conversations, and they get easier,” commented another user. “Promise. I’m a director now, and I’m okay!”
Something to take away from Heather’s story, is if you get a little emotional when it comes to workplace stress and serious conversations, you are not alone! Just keep at it, and you’ll be fine.
