In 1998, teenager Brianne Wolgram had plans to pick one of her friends to enjoy Labor Day Weekend after a long day at work. But when Brianne never arrived at her friend’s house, her loved ones knew something was wrong.

Brianne Wolgram grew up in Revelstoke, British Columbia, and was 19-years-old in 1998, the year she mysteriously went missing. Brianne was known as a kind, hardworking girl and worked two jobs in her hometown.

Brianne had a part-time job at a local McDonald’s and worked long shifts at the Ol’ Frontier’s Supersave gas station, located along a highway.

On Friday, September 4th, 1998, Brianne worked a late shift at McDonald’s and spent the rest of the night hanging out with friends. The following day, Saturday, September 5th, she worked a long day at the gas station from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Brianne’s coworkers at the gas station claimed something was off about Brianne that day, and she allegedly burst into tears in the middle of the afternoon. No one knew exactly why.

When her shift ended, Brianne’s family was attending a barbecue, but she chose to return home and take a nap instead of joining them.

Then, around 9:00 p.m., Brianne made plans with her best friend Kristi Cain, who she’d be picking up that night at 11:15 p.m., to attend some parties for Labor Day Weekend.

Kristi had allegedly asked Brianne to stop at the store and pick up some wine coolers before going to get her.

However, Brianne never showed up at Kristi’s house, and around 11:20 p.m., she called Brianne’s home to ask where she was.

When Brianne was officially reported missing, police received information from a witness who allegedly knew Brianne personally.

The witness claimed to see Brianne talking to three girls outside a local 7-Eleven on Victoria Road between 11:00 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. Brianne was wearing blue jeans, a white t-shirt, and black sandals.

The descriptions of these three girls were given to police, and sketches were made, but they remain unidentified.

Another witness claimed to have followed Brianne’s car, a 1989 black Acura Integra, as it drove out of town and said there were three passengers with her.

Five days after Brianne went missing, her car was found abandoned off Echo Lake Road near Alkolkolex Falls.

It had hit a tree in the road and suffered minor damage. Brianne’s belongings were in the car, including her wallet, driver’s license, and $200 cash.

Police found a can of Budweiser and a package of cigarillos outside the car and an opened container of wine coolers and other miscellaneous items inside the car. At home, Brianne’s personal items and toiletries were untouched.

One man told police he had allegedly seen a young woman that matched Brianne’s description walking up Echo Lake Road on September 6th, 1998. He claimed to have said “hi” to the girl, but she never responded.

Local police had hundreds of people pitch in to search for Brianne. They searched the woods, near the shore, and had people flying planes and helicopters to look for her. Tragically, there was no sign of her.

Brianne’s mother, Sheryl, had stated that Brianne did struggle with Seasonal Affective Disorder but wasn’t showing any symptoms of it when she disappeared.

Sheryl has also said she insists her daughter wasn’t suicidal and wouldn’t take off without letting someone know where she was.

Brianne’s family is still searching for answers 24 years later. A website dedicated to her case, Find Brianne Wolgram, has been posting updates on her case and is a space for people to submit any information they may have on her disappearance.

“And yet another year has passed, making it 23 years since we saw your beautiful face or heard your cute laugh and saw that beautiful smile,” wrote Sheryl Wolgram on the website on the 23rd anniversary of Brianne’s disappearance.

“It still seems like yesterday that this nightmare began. Praying one day we will have an answer. Not a day goes by that we don’t think or speak of you.”

At the time of Brianne’s disappearance, she was five foot two, weighed 130 pounds, and had light brown, curly, shoulder-length hair and blue eyes. She also had a birthmark on the back of her right leg.
