She’s A Professional Photographer, And She’s Sick Of Dads Showing Up To Family Photo Shoots With Bad Attitudes

“If you guys would stop pouting like literal children because you have to take pictures with your wife and family. My job could be done so much faster, but because you look like this in every single photo. I have to continue taking photos until I get a halfway decent one of you.”

This is so true. Though I’m not a photographer, I know that if people would just get over their desire not to be somewhere, the process would be much shorter and easier.

More usually than not, the only reason they are taking family photos is that no one ever just takes candid photos of a mom with her family, so she has no photos of herself with her kids.

“It absolutely drives me insane that these men are complaining because, as a mom and a wife and a photographer, I know that this mom booked the shoot because her husband never takes photos of her and never takes photos of her and her kids,” Han continued.

“So the mom feels guilty looking back at all the photos, realizing that she’s not in any of them. Realizing that one day she’s going to die, and there’s going to be no good photos of her and her children for them to look back on.”

“Because you guys can’t get off of your freaking video games for 2 seconds to actually try and take a decent photo of her and her kids. So she’s spending hundreds of dollars to make sure that there’s somewhat, some semblance, of memories for her kids to look back on of her so that they can see what she looks like.”

This, this right here, is why it’s so important for partners to take random photos throughout a relationship, especially once you have kids. There are so many little moments that you don’t want to forget or miss out on because you were too busy with your face in a phone, or video game, or something else that you think is more important at that moment.

I know that personally, I need to be better at taking photos at the moment. There are experiences that I want to remember for the rest of my life and that I want to share with other people. I think that is why my mom took so many photos of me and my siblings growing up. We will randomly go through photos, and we will be flooded with fond memories we forgot we had.

So take the moment away from the computer, away from the technology, and make memories and record them. Photos and videos are some of the most treasured heirlooms a person can give their family.
