This man and his wife are both in their sixties, and they are considering retiring sometime in the near future.

As they are planning out this step, they are getting their finances organized. They decided to sell their home, as it’s really too large for the two of them and it’s unnecessary.

He and his wife want to move somewhere new, to a smaller home located in a more peaceful area.

He and his wife have three children, and all of them are adults with children of their own. He and his wife have one daughter, who has one child, and they have two sons; one son has two children, and the other son has two children and an adopted stepdaughter.

Their youngest son was married to his first wife when he cheated on her around a decade ago, which ended in divorce.

Their son then got married to the woman he cheated on his first wife with, and he adopted her daughter too.

He and his wife are intending to divide up all of their assets between their children and grandchildren, which means they’re excluding their youngest son’s adopted daughter from everything.

He and his wife had a family meeting to discuss their will, and they wanted to see if any of their kids were interested in purchasing their current home.

They also want to leave all of their heirlooms to their kids and give their grandkids money to pay for all of their college educations.

“Our son got very angry when he heard that we’re cutting off his adopted child from the will,” he explained.

“We told him she’s not our family and we don’t support his life choices and how he ruined his family. He told us to stop holding a grudge for something that happened years ago and accept the child, or cut him and his family off.”

He and his wife do not see their son’s adopted daughter at all really, and this little girl does not refer to them as her grandparents.

His son does not speak to his first wife or his two biological children; he cut them all out of his life and refused to pay any child support. He and his wife have actually had to step in to help financially.

“For those who say that love should be unconditional, I disagree,” he added. “Love is always conditional to the bare minimum to maintain a bond, that’s my opinion.”

So, since he and his wife have no relationship with their son’s adopted daughter, that’s why they do not think she should be included in their will at all.

The rest of his kids agree with him and his wife excluding their son’s adopted daughter from inheriting anything.

“The circumstances in which my son cheated (which is bad enough) and proceeded to kick his family out and abandon them are the reason why neither my wife, me or the rest of our family has a good relationship with the three of them,” he continued.

To him and his wife, their son’s second wife and adopted daughter and further “proof” that he destroyed his own family. His son has since accused him and his wife of treating his new family terribly, but he and his wife don’t agree.
