She Exposed Her Stepson For Not Being Faithful To His Girlfriend, And He Got Dumped
Two years ago, this 42-year-old woman and her husband, Steve, 43, got married. Steve has a 21-year-old son named Josh, who he had with his previous wife.
He and his ex-wife have been divorced for roughly a decade, but their breakup was mutual and civil. Luckily, everyone gets along within this family dynamic.
Right now, Josh is attending college, and he’s living with her and Steve until he graduates. Josh sleeps in the finished basement, where they also have a huge TV set up.
She and Josh don’t have a close bond, but they are friendly with one another, and she’s grateful that Josh respects her.
However, Josh has made their living situation uncomfortable because he constantly brings different women that he’s hooking up with over to their house.
Josh and whichever woman he’s brought home that night usually spend most of their time together in the basement, so it seems that Josh enjoys utilizing his private space.
Almost every time, she sees Josh with a different woman, and she rarely sees the same woman twice. He does this numerous times a week.
When Josh isn’t at their house, he hangs out with his friends at their apartments. Josh uses the back door, so she and Steve are never woken up in the middle of the night or early in the morning by him.
She enjoys reading out on the back porch on nights when she’s struggling to sleep, so she’s seen many of the women that Josh has hooked up with as they come and go.

The basement has a full bathroom, but unfortunately, they’ve been experiencing problems with the pipes, so the toilet and shower in the basement aren’t functioning currently.
Sometimes, she works in her office late into the night. Once in a while, during these nights, she’ll see a woman who has never been in this house before searching for the bathroom.
“I also see them eating breakfast in our kitchen almost every time. That was definitely a shock the first time, seeing some girl I’d never met trying to figure out my toaster and taking the last bagel,” she said.
“Let’s just say I’ve learned to hide my personal breakfast stuff in the back of the pantry. Usually, Josh briefly introduces and tells us her name. I have no idea why.”
The women Josh brings over never stay too long, so she has never been too bothered with him having women at the house as they clean up after themselves, but she does feel a bit uncomfortable about it.
When she and Steve discussed the situation, he told her he didn’t think there was anything wrong with Josh, a young adult, living his life on his own terms as long he was safe. She agreed with this sentiment and has been minding her own business up until now.
Throughout the last couple of months, she saw one woman in particular named Casey coming over more frequently than any other she’d seen at the house before.
So far, Casey has been at the house about four or five times, and she’s a junior at the college Josh goes to.
The first time Casey came over, she was taking a quick break from work to get a snack from the kitchen at about 10 p.m. when Casey walked up from the basement to use the bathroom.
As she started to walk back to her office, Casey pointed out the degree she had hanging on the wall, and she was a bit stunned that this girl seemed pretty conversational. Casey told her that her major was in the same field she herself studied.
During the conversation, she asked what Josh was up to, and Casey giggled nervously before saying that he’d fallen asleep while they were watching a movie.
The next morning, she and Casey talked quite a bit again, so she assumed that Josh was exclusively dating her.
However, she quickly discovered that this wasn’t the case later on when she was sitting on the deck and Josh arrived at the house with a completely different woman. Josh also hooked up with yet another woman not long after she met Casey for the first time.
At first, she didn’t express her shock or disappointment to Josh because his relationship choices were his own choices to make.
But several days later, Casey came over to the house again. In her view, Casey seemed to really have romantic feelings for Josh.
She felt horrible that she wasn’t warning Casey about Josh’s hookups with numerous other women, but she didn’t want to get involved when it wasn’t her place to do so.
During Casey’s most recent visit to the house, Josh had to leave for an early morning meeting, but Casey stayed behind for a while.
Steve was already gone, so she and Casey were the only ones at the house at this point. Before leaving, Casey asked if she could help her load the dishwasher. She thought this was such a kind gesture, and she accepted Casey’s offer.
“While we were together, she offhandedly mentioned that it was kind of sweet how Josh introduced her to his parents so early on,” she explained.
“It shows how committed he was from the start. She giggled and mentioned something about getting the hard parts of a relationship out of the way, and being with him made her happy. I couldn’t do it. She was so nice and innocent. I just felt bad.”
So, she did her best to calmly ask Casey if she and Josh had talked about exclusivity. Casey appeared a bit baffled by this and said, “‘Yeah?'” as if the answer was plain as day.
Then, she carefully informed Casey that since she’s been coming over to hang out with Josh, he has brought over a couple of other women as well.
She clarified to Casey that she didn’t want to assume she knew what was going on between her and Josh, adding that she was such a gorgeous young girl and deserved to be with a man who was on the same page about being in a serious relationship.
Casey was on the verge of tears after she told her this and quickly excused herself from the kitchen. Because of how shocked and upset Casey appeared when she heard this information, it was pretty evident that Josh hadn’t been upfront with her about seeing other women.
She felt terrible knowing that breaking this news hurt Casey so much, but telling her the truth felt like the right thing to do.
Casey was so sweet, so she wanted to warn her about what Josh was up to so that she had all the information she needed to make informed decisions.
Upon reflection, she acknowledged the fact that Josh and Casey could have been engaged in an open relationship, but she didn’t think this was a likely possibility when she considered how stunned and devastated Casey was.
That night, Josh came home and was furious with her because Casey had contacted him, expressed her anger, and broken things off.
Josh claimed that it wasn’t her place to get involved in his life. He went on to say that it was wrong for her to make Casey cry.
She was irate with Josh for blaming her, and she told him that he was a bad person for breaking Casey’s heart due to his dishonesty.
In her opinion, Josh is free to do what he wants, and she would never pressure him to make different decisions, but he isn’t free from experiencing the ramifications of his own choices.
Josh marched off and hasn’t been speaking to her since the argument. When Steve found out about what happened, he told her that he could see where she was coming from, but he felt like she crossed the line by involving herself because she’s not Josh’s biological mother.
According to Steve, Josh is still young, so he’s going to make poor decisions, so they need to give him the space to learn from these bad choices.
While Steve felt horrible for what Josh was putting Casey through, he didn’t think it was their place to intervene.
“He’s asked me to just apologize for overstepping, and he’ll get Josh to apologize for yelling, and we can put this whole mess behind us,” she shared.
“At first, I thought I was right, but now I’m wondering if I was too pushy and let the whole thing get too personal.”
Now, she’s concerned that there will be tension between her and Josh, and she doesn’t want to damage their relationship.
She would love for them to have a close bond in the future, and she’s worried that he may start to view her as a terrible stepmother who crosses boundaries.
Even though she knew that Casey hadn’t been seeing Josh for very long, it was clear that Casey had strong feelings for him, wanted a relationship, and that she assumed Josh was on the same page.
If she hadn’t told Casey the truth about Josh’s behavior, there was the possibility that Casey would have continued hanging out with Josh for months or years before discovering that he was hooking up with other women.
She feels like it was crucial to give Casey all of the facts so that she could make the best choice for herself in regard to the relationship with Josh. Plus, it would have been awful to keep that information from Casey indefinitely.
At the same time, she wasn’t upset with the fact that Josh was hooking up with a lot of women despite the fact that it was uncomfortable for her.
She grew accustomed to it for the most part, but the problem for her was the way Josh was treating Casey, a woman who clearly had no clue that Josh wasn’t interested in a serious, monogamous relationship with her.
Sadly, she knows what it’s like for a man to lead you on and be unfaithful to you. It felt like it was her duty to warn Casey before she was too emotionally attached to Josh.
If Casey continued dating Josh any longer, learning the truth would have been that much more painful.
