He And His Wife Got Blamed For Ruining Their Friend Group’s Vacation After Bringing Their Toddler Along, Even Though Their Friends Said It Was Okay

It’s understandable for people not to enjoy being around or having to take care of kids, but it gets obnoxious when they make a big deal over it.
One man and his wife are upset after one of their friends accused them of ruining their friend group’s trip by bringing their two-year-old son, even though everyone said it was okay for him to go beforehand.
He and his wife Angie are in their late 20s and have a two-year-old son named Sam. They’re in a friend group with five other people around their age. In the friend group is another couple and three others, Greg and Tim, who also have children and Zoe.
Zoe is 32 and cannot stand children. While he and Angie are okay with that, Zoe’s aversion to children caused some drama on a recent trip.
Because their friend group is now spread throughout the country, his friend, Greg, thought it would be a great idea to host the gang at his beach house for five days.
It’s in a different state and a two-hour flight away.
“Both Greg and Tim have children, and Greg made sure to invite us over while his kid would be with his ex,” he explained.
“But Tim is a single father and couldn’t afford to leave his daughter with a babysitter for five days. Due to that, it was decided that both Tim’s daughter and Sam were welcome on the trip. Angie and I offered to leave Sam with my mother-in-law, but the whole group, including Zoe, said it was fine. All of these decisions were made two months in advance.”
Only two days before the trip, Tim told everyone that he and his daughter would no longer go because she got chicken pox. Then, Zoe called Angie and told her that her mother would be having a busy week, implying that he and Angie would leave Sam at home because Tim’s daughter wasn’t going anymore.

However, by then, his mother-in-law had already made travel plans for that week, and they couldn’t book a different babysitter at the last minute.
“So, we told Zoe we were still bringing Sam with us,” he recalled.
“Zoe protested, saying that she was only okay with having kids around during the trip because she knew Tim had no choice, and we had ‘no excuse’ to bring Sam now that Tim’s daughter wasn’t coming anymore. But we held our ground [and] the others took our side.”
During the trip, he and Angie tried to help Zoe stay away from Sam as much as possible. Unfortunately, this put a damper on their trip experience, as they missed valuable time with their friend group to avoid putting Angie and Sam in the same room too often.
Looking back on the trip, he thinks Angie and Sam saw each other only four times, and nothing went wrong. However, Zoe still had a rotten attitude and is now accusing him and Angie of ruining her vacation.
“[Angie said] it was selfish of us to not consider her feelings about children after Tim dropped out,” he added.
“Zoe hasn’t spoken to us since we flew back home. This week, she unfollowed Angie on Instagram ten minutes after she made a post for Sam’s second birthday, so I think she’s still bitter.”
Because of Zoe’s reaction, Angie is beginning to feel guilty for bringing Sam on the trip. Although he’s trying to convince Angie they did nothing wrong and that Zoe was being unreasonable, he’s beginning to wonder if they were wrong to bring Sam on the trip.
Were they wrong to bring Sam on the trip, or is Zoe acting unfairly?
