This 21-year-old man and his girlfriend, 21, have been in a relationship for the last six years, since their freshman year of high school. He assumed that they would eventually become husband and wife. Recently, everything changed.

During his sophomore year, his parents had a terrible divorce. For a year leading up to the divorce, his parents screamed and argued nightly. He eventually moved in with his grandparents.

Sadly, his grandpa passed away during his senior year. After his grandpa’s passing, his grandma struggled financially.

“So, I dropped out of school and got a GED to work full-time to care for her. She unfortunately passed about a year ago,” he said.

Yesterday morning, he and his girlfriend went to McDonald’s for breakfast. His girlfriend needed to use the bathroom, so he walked up to the counter by himself to place their order. After his girlfriend returned from the bathroom, their food was ready, and they sat at a table.

Unfortunately, the McDonald’s employee didn’t give them the correct items he ordered for his girlfriend. He knew this wasn’t a big deal and acknowledged that mistakes happen.

“But she flipped. She went on a rant about how I always mess up things. And how she shouldn’t have left something so simple to someone who couldn’t even finish high school,” he explained.

While his girlfriend scolded him, she cussed him out, and he was so shocked because she’d never done anything like this before.

She was unrecognizable. He was humiliated, and everybody in the restaurant was gawking at them. He didn’t say a word in response to his girlfriend and instead stood up and decided to leave.
