This pushed her to ultimately tell Jenny that she couldn’t afford to attend the wedding anymore. Her friend didn’t take the news well, either, and got really upset before accusing her of backing out of the wedding simply because she wasn’t the maid of honor anymore.
Jenny claimed that she was letting her pride come before their friendship and that if she really cared about their relationship, she would figure out how to “make it work financially.”
The situation has left her feeling really terrible, too, because she honestly does want to be there for her best friend.
“But the financial strain is too much for me, especially now that my role in the wedding – and my involvement in the planning – has changed,” she vented.
Still, with Jenny upset with her now, she can’t help but wonder if refusing to attend the destination wedding after getting demoted from maid of honor is really so unreasonable or not.
