The customer started getting defensive and asked if they’d be kicked out and couldn’t sit in the restaurant to quietly read their book “just because” they’re not spending any money.
Syd told them they “nailed it” and that if they were going to be in the establishment, use its resources, and not pay to use those resources, it was considered trespassing.
Many TikTok users in Syd’s comments section recognized this customer scenario and had similar experiences.
“One time, I had a table come in and say they brought their own food,” commented one TikTok user.

“If you want a nice climate-controlled place to not spend money, may I suggest the library?” commented another TikTok user.
“You can even bring hot water with lemon if it [has] a lid.”
