Despite that, tensions have still been high in their relationship, and his wife has been giving him the cold shoulder ever since. On top of that, some of their mutual friends have begun calling him a jerk for ruining his girlfriend’s plans.
“I feel like I was clear about my boundaries, and I didn’t want to be put in a position where I was uncomfortable,” he vented.
Nonetheless, with his wife still mad at him, he’s been left wondering if canceling his own surprise birthday party without telling her was really the wrong thing to do.
