Her Husband Says If She Goes Back To Work, All Childcare And Work-Related Expenses Will Come Out Of Her Salary Since He Wants Her To Stay Home With The Kids

“My husband has high standards and feels if our child needs to be in the care of someone, it should be the best possible care. He expects the same quality of care for our youngest that our oldest has,” she shared.

As she and her husband researched childcare options in their area, the options her husband preferred would cost anywhere from $19,000 to $24,000 per year, and there would be other childcare costs they’d have to account for.

Plus, they’d need to consider the second vehicle they’d be purchasing, higher insurance costs, and spending more on gas.

While she acknowledged how expensive childcare would be, they could afford it if her husband paid for it and would still be financially comfortable. In her opinion, her husband was being unnecessarily mean about the issue.

Even though they weren’t in a financial position where it was crucial that she returned to work, she realized that being a stay-at-home mother wasn’t right for her.

She and her husband thought it would be best for their family when she had their first child, she learned that she didn’t enjoy caring for their children at home all the time.

Despite her earnings going to daycare, she is willing to accept that to start working again. While she understands why her husband is worried about their children spending almost 12 hours a day in school or childcare, she wants to prioritize her mental health.

What advice would you give her?
