She’s Sharing All The Unusual Things She’s Doing To Celebrate Her Daughter’s First Birthday To Make Life Easier For Everybody Involved

After all, for many people, spending one of their two days off from work at a kid’s birthday party is not fun.

Rachel also refuses to pay for any special games or entertainment for kids at the party. She only plans to set up a simple ball pit and will put out the kid toys she already has for the little ones. Those things with her trampoline in her backyard will be enough for Rachel’s party.

Also, Rachel will not be feeding everyone a massive amount of breakfast. She asks that her guests eat beforehand and that she provide snacks only.

Rachel also requested that guests not bring gifts like clothes or toys, as her daughter is all set in both departments. She wrote on the invitations that guests could kindly donate $5 to their backyard renovation fund if they wanted to bring something.

“Bring us five bucks to help us redo our backyard,” says Rachel.

“That’s what we’re asking. She does not need anything.”

Perhaps Rachel’s most controversial party detail for her one-year-old is that she will not serve a big birthday cake. Instead, she plans on purchasing little coffee cakes and decorating them.

Some parents insist on getting their baby a traditional birthday cake they can smash into pieces, but Rachel deemed it unnecessary, especially since the party will be in the morning.

“That’s what we’re doing because she’s not going to remember it,” says Rachel at the end of her video.

What do you think of Rachel’s party details? Are you into the low-key gathering idea, or do you think babies still deserve a bigger celebration?
