On a Super Bowl Sunday, TikToker Mercedes Garcia (@mercedes_cann) accidentally caught her husband cheating on her. That day, they were hosting a Super Bowl party at their house. They were using her husband’s phone to play music.
He never hid his phone from her or gave her any reason to be suspicious, so it had not crossed her mind to look through it before.
He handed his phone to her so she could change the music. While Mercedes was looking at his phone, a message popped up from this girl on Facebook Messenger.
She was curious about who was messaging her husband, so she clicked the message. However, it suddenly disappeared, which she thought was odd.
Anyway, she continued scrolling through the music playlist. Then, another message came through, and it was a photo. Mercedes tried clicking on the message, but it disappeared again.
She decided to log out and log back into the account to refresh the page. She discovered that her husband had two accounts. She logged into his other account and saw messages from several girls.
“This is how bad he covered himself,” Mercedes said. “So, when they would message him, he would message them back, and then he would delete it as they would send the messages. So, I only saw the messages that he hadn’t seen yet.”
She did not say a word about her discovery. She just logged out of the account and waited for him to pick up his phone again. Eventually, she figured out the password and logged into the account one day after he left the house.
When she finally confronted him about the messages on his phone, he said nothing to defend himself. Instead, he attacked her. She had to wait for him to fall asleep, so her friend could help her sneak out of the house.

She went to the hospital for her injuries. After that, she was terrified of him, especially because he kept threatening to hurt the people she loved.
She stayed with him for a while, but he still continued cheating on her. In the end, she was able to gather the strength to leave.
Sadly, Mercedes is just one of countless women who’ve experienced betrayal from their partners. Many of them shared their stories in the comments section.
“On a Super Bowl Sunday, I caught my husband at the movies walking down the aisle with one of his coworkers. I was at the movies with our kids and my mother,” commented one user.
“I was clueless for 21 years of my marriage, and the only way I found out was because the current girl called and told me. I was in shock because I trusted him completely. Found out that there were multiple women through the years,” wrote another.
“I caught mine at a Super Bowl party, too. Found out I was pregnant the day before. He handed me his phone and forgot to close out of his messaging app. Handed me the evidence,” added a third.
