As someone who removes dead bodies for a living, TikToker @katii_touchette has seen her fair share of tragic scenes. But one case, in particular, has haunted her greatly.
One day, she responded to a call about a deceased body in the woods. It was a 17-year-old female who was about to turn 18 in just five days and age out of the foster care system. She had been in foster care for her entire life.
She had been with her latest foster parents at the time for only three months. Upon arrival, TikToker @katii_touchette and her team could see that the girl’s body had been there for at least a few days, which was strange because she had never been reported missing.
“She was found two miles from her foster home on a Class 4 road only accessible by walking from the main road or by ATV,” @katii_touchette said.
“She was discovered by her foster uncle after he had went on a walk. He claimed he was looking for an area to set up his hunting blind at 10 o’clock at night in the dark.”
The girl was still in high school, and one of her teachers tried to report her missing. Her foster father was the last person to see her alive three days prior.
He did not remember what she was wearing and had assumed that she was running away after she randomly took off. The story didn’t make any sense because she would’ve aged out of the system in five days.
The teacher who tried to report the girl missing had also filed a police report stating that the girl had claimed she was being abused at home by the foster father and foster uncle since the first day of her arrival there.
The Department of Children and Families never found any evidence of abuse, perhaps because the foster mother actually works for them.

“Now the foster parents have three other children in the home still, to this day,” @katii_touchette.
“The youngest foster child in the home said that he had seen the father walking out back in the woods with the 17-year-old girl. He returned maybe three hours later, and when he returned by himself, he told the younger siblings that she was out getting some fresh air.”
The police asked to check out her bedroom, but she did not have her own room. She stayed in the living room. The teacher stated that she had been documenting the instances of abuse in a journal, but the journal was never found because the foster parents threw out all her belongings before her body was even discovered.
Their reasoning for this was that foster kids often run away, and she was almost an adult, so if she had wanted her stuff, she would’ve taken it with her.
The foster father said that she had taken a backpack full of things when she left, but the youngest foster child said that wasn’t true.
A week after the girl’s body was discovered, all the other foster children in the home were pulled out of school and are now being homeschooled.
The foster father is also a pastor, and the girl’s body was found less than a mile from his church.
A backpack was lying next to her body, but it hadn’t been there for as long as her body. The backpack was dry, even though it had been raining heavily for the past few days. The 17-year-old was fully clothed, but her pants were on backward.
TikToker @katii_touchette tried to request the autopsy results but was told they could not be released because the girl was a minor. There was no active investigation into her death because she had “succumbed to the elements.”
Thankfully, @katii_touchette has friends in higher places, so she was able to obtain more information. The girl had lacerations, five broken ribs, and a wound in her chest that looked like she had been impaled by something. She was cremated, but it is unclear what happened with her remains.
This foster family has had multiple children run away under their care, and they never returned. Yet, they still have three underage children in their home. The whole story reeks of injustice and demonstrates how the system looks the other way.
