Over six or seven years ago, TikToker Katharine Jacobs (@katharinetjacobs) left her ex-husband and moved back in with her family in California.
They have been no contact for more than five years. They have a daughter together, but he does not pay child support and hasn’t seen her since she was two years old.
“Honestly, I’m fine with it because he is in active addiction,” she said. “He has never offered to go to rehab, and to the best of my knowledge, has never tried. He truly believes that you can use drugs and have a normal life.”
She added that her ex-husband was also a raging narcissist, and she suffered years of abuse from him. Shortly before they separated, she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS), which made things even more stressful.
She had had to flee the home with her infant daughter because she couldn’t kick him out. He was already using the home to sell drugs and gave out the address to stalkers. It wasn’t safe for her to stay.
Her life has significantly improved now that he is no longer a part of it. Even though she is a single mother with no financial support, she is thriving, and he can tell.
He has admitted to stalking her online. She blocked him on every social media platform and does not communicate with his family. Not only is he an abuser and an addict, but he is also a user and manipulator.
“He also…seeks out women, gets into relationships with them, mooches off of them, and uses them for financial and emotional benefits,” Katharine explained.
“He’s doing that now. He clearly has a new girlfriend.”

Now, he is asking the court to set aside the judgment in the ruling of their divorce case, so he can benefit financially from Katharine. He thinks that she somehow tricked the judge into giving her more money in the divorce settlement.
Fast forward to September of 2025, and he told Katharine that he had the intent to file for a reversal of their divorce. He’s claiming that she owes him $6,000. So, she has to go to court to fight for her right to stay divorced.
In the comments section, some TikTok users were shocked to learn that it is possible to overturn a divorce and couldn’t help but talk about how messed up Katharine’s situation is.
“Divorce attorney here. Your story is unfortunately rather common,” commented one user.
“The only way it should ever be legal to overturn a divorce is if you both willingly choose to remarry each other,” pointed out another.
“Just imagine if he put that much effort into the marriage when you were married. I’ve never heard of anyone doing such a petty thing,” wrote a third.
