Privacy is the ultimate luxury, and imagine trying to relax in your own garden, only for your neighbor’s kid to pop over your fence every few minutes like a human Whac-A-Mole.

What lengths would you go to deter this kid from peeking into your private space and upsetting your peace?

This woman has a fence on the left side of her yard, so her neighbor can’t touch it or do anything about it, since she’s the owner of the fence.

Her neighbor has a 10-year-old son who is totally obnoxious, and this kid climbs up her fence all the time so he can see into her garden when she’s there.

“I’ll be minding my own business, and he’ll pop his head up, make some stupid noise, and then duck down trying to get my attention,” she explained.

“It’s even worse when his little friends are over. They all think it’s hilarious. There’s other stuff too that really gets on my nerves, but the fence thing is the main problem.”

“I’ve asked his mom multiple times to tell him to stop bothering me. She says she will, but nothing changes. I’ve told the kid directly to go away and leave me alone. He doesn’t listen either. I’m just completely sick of it at this point.”

A few days ago, she went out and bought spikes to put on the top part of her fence to deter her neighbor’s annoying kid from climbing it.

She got out a ladder, and as she was installing the spikes, her neighbor walked out to question her about what she was putting on the fence.

She informed her neighbor that they were spikes to keep her kid off, and her neighbor responded that it was a severe reaction.

She replied to her neighbor that he should finally get her son to quit climbing the fence, as he will certainly get injured, considering the spikes on top.

“I also told her I like my privacy and that I’m sick to death of her son being a little fool and breaking my boundaries. That was pretty much the end of the conversation,” she added.

“But sure enough, the kid tried to climb up anyway and ended up hurting himself. Maybe now he’ll finally stop. I know some people will say he’s just a kid, but I don’t really care at this point.”

“I’ve asked nicely multiple times, and nothing worked. It’s annoying, it disturbs me, and it makes me uncomfortable in my own garden.”

She already tried politely asking her neighbor to rein in her kid, and that didn’t work, so I think escalating to spikes was a smart move on her part.

Hopefully, this kid learned his lesson and will stop trying to annoy her when she’s out there in her garden.

Do you think it was cruel of her to put the spikes on the fence to keep her neighbor’s kid away from her?
