As a single mom, TikToker Briana (@brianasheriii) knew that getting paid $68,000 to be a surrogate would change her life. She works a full-time job, but she still really needed the extra money. It would provide financial breathing room. However, the whole experience meant more to her than just the money.
When she decided to be a surrogate, she came up with some conditions for the kind of arrangement she wanted. In her contract, she specifically stated that she wanted to carry a baby for a woman who deeply desired to be a mom but was physically unable to carry a pregnancy herself.
The intended mother she matched with had tried for six or seven years to become a mom, facing multiple setbacks. In fact, she almost died in the process of trying to have her own child.
After so many years of heartbreak and medical challenges, surrogacy became her path forward.
Briana was her surrogate about a year and a half ago. She gave birth to a healthy baby boy for this woman. Since then, the woman messages Briana during holidays or special occasions like Mother’s Day, thanking her for making her dreams come true.
Even the woman’s mother reached out to Briana after she gave birth to express her gratitude.
“When I became a surrogate, it wasn’t just for money,” said Briana. “It was also because I got to do something for someone that they could never repay me for.”
“Like, I got to use my body that gave me two of my own beautiful children to also make someone else a mom.”
Her story resonated deeply in the comments section, where many TikTok users shared their own surrogacy journeys. Overall, the knowledge that they have helped to build a family was both fulfilling and empowering.

“My cousin gave two incredible gay men two beautiful girls. And she had two amazing girls of her own before it. I’m always so in awe of her for doing that for a family. It’s truly such a special gift. You’re amazing!” exclaimed one user.
“I am a surrogate. Eight months pregnant right now. That is why I chose to do this, too. Sure, the money is a great bonus, but being able to give the gift of life is beyond words or dollars,” wrote another.
“I’ve done it twice and just got approved to do my third journey! It’s definitely not about the money. I like being pregnant and being able to help someone start or extend their family! I’m also an MA at a fertility clinic, so I see the good and the ugly, and watching patients graduate from the clinic is why I love my job. I get to experience both sides,” added a third.
