One weekend, TikToker @shlong_kong went to a brewery with her parents for a charity event in support of a friend of theirs who had cancer. The brewery was dog-friendly, and someone had brought their dog along.

She asked to pet the dog. She petted the dog a couple of times, but on the third time, the dog attacked her. The dog took out a large chunk of her nose. She had to get a tetanus shot, undergo surgery, and get a skin graft on her nose.

The attack was reported to animal control, and she was interviewed by the police. She didn’t know exactly what breed the dog was, but it was a medium-sized mutt from a shelter. It was white with black spots.

She has no interest in suing or pressing charges against the dog owner. The woman offered to pay her medical bills, so that seemed like a fair deal to @shlong_kong.

She also reassured her that she would no longer be bringing her dog to the brewery because the dog clearly couldn’t handle it.

TikToker @shlong_kong is 25 years old and had been drinking at the time of the attack. She has now learned that alcohol can make dogs more reactive.

As for her journey to recovery, her last set of stitches has been removed, and she will be undergoing a laser procedure at the beginning of March to help reduce scarring.

Other survivors of dog attacks took to the comments section to share their stories of healing and recovery. They also praised @shlong_kong for maintaining such a positive attitude.

“I got bit by my rescue last May, took half my lip, and shredded up my chin. I admire your sense of humor about it. Hope you’re feeling better soon! It does get better, especially with a good surgeon. I couldn’t be grafted, but I’m grateful mine mostly grew back!” exclaimed one user.

“One of my friend’s rescue chow chows bit me in the face in 2016, and it truly was a freak accident. I’m glad you’re feeling okay and not taking it out on the dog. Hope you recover smoothly! I’ve learned to love my face scars, and most people kindly say they don’t notice it,” commented another.

“I was bitten on my face, scalp, and arm in third grade and needed reconstructive plastic surgery. Today, you can’t tell. Over time, the body finds a way to heal. It’s quite remarkable,” added a third.

“I had a similar experience about 10 years ago. Had to get 15 stitches on my lip. There is still a scar, but it’s barely noticeable now, so hopefully, yours heals up okay with some time! I definitely learned that day never to put your face in a dog’s face unless it’s your own dog, and even still, I am wary with mine,” wrote someone else.
